I was thinking recently about the upcoming elections and I was realizing that people tend to lean towards voting for people that can give them what they need. And these people that are running for president present themselves to the people that need them by appealing to their needs financially, ethically and morally. Therefore, the more one is dependent on the government for help, THE MORE THE GOVERNMENT HAS CONTROL OF THEM!!!

Meanwhile, the people that are running for presidency are dependent on their sponsors, therefore the sponsors of control over them. Then there is Donald Trump, he doesn't NEED any sponsors, he depends on himself, therefore he is dependent on himself, which is equally scary when you think about it.

But it really got me to thinking about how when we are dependent on something, the thing that we are dependent on CONTROLS US!!! A drug addict is dependent on drugs. An alcoholic is dependent on alcohol. If you live with someone, you are controlled by the rules of their household. Children are controlled by parents. Government controls nations. Bosses control your work. Cars control where you go. Bodies are controlled by nourishment. Fish are controlled by water, temperature is controlled by weather, and the list of control and dependents goes on and on, I'm sure you can think of many more. The fact is, what you are dependent on, CONTROLS YOU!!!

Then as I was thinking about this, it hit me, The more depenendent you are in God, the more he has control of your life! Think about it, if you depend on God, IN EVERY AREA OF YOUR LIFE, He then in turn has CONTROL of every area of your life.

Now I'm NOT promoting sitting around and doing NOTHING, promoting asking God to HELP YOU, to guide you in what to do next. Elisha told the widow woman to borrow all the empty pots from her neighbors and THEN HE FILLED THEM!!! Sometimes God just does it and sometimes We got to put some umph and work into it! But there comes a time when you've done all that you can physically do, AND now you don't depend on other sources to help you, you go to God and you depend on him to help you.

So often I've heard people say, WHY don't we see miracles in the Unites States that we hear missionaries talking about in foreign countries??? You know WHY??? Because they are dependent on GOD to provide for their needs.

When there are NO doctors, no medicine, no food banks, no welfare offices, no online dating sites to help them out in their times of needs. They depend on God to help them when they're sick! They depend on God to help them when they're hungry! They depend on God to help them find a spouse. When they need a job, they depend on God to help them find a job!

Furthermore, when you are dependent on God, He NOT only has control over provision for your needs, he has control of your actions, your choices, guiding your thoughts, helping your attitude.

It puzzles me that as humans, we tend to want to depend on someone or something or even in our own self, when we are just mere humans, flawed and imperfect. Why do we tend to depend on creation to help us, instead of THE CREATOR??? Why oh WHY would we want to be controlled by imperfection, by the finite, when the perfect, infinite one is waiting there with a perfectly laid out plan to help us.

I want to become more dependent on God. My hearts desire is to be so dependent on God that He literally has control of EVERY area of my life! Oh God help me, help us, your creation to become completely dependent on you, our creator!!!
